Ultraformer is suitable for clients with fine lines, wrinkles and loose skin on the face. It’s also suitable for those who want to reduce sagging around the jawline and neck area, and those who would like a slimmer shape.

The lower face and neck are the most common areas that we treat here at Derma Cosmetika, but Ultraformer gives great results across the whole body.

During an Ultraformer treatment, High Intensity Focused Ultrasound delivers ultrasound waves into varying layers of the skin, without damaging the skin’s surface. The energy heats the targeted areas to temperatures of 65-75°C – the best range to encourage collagen production and facilitate tissue contraction, which restores a more youthful structure and provides more toned and tighter skin.

Eyebrows, hooded eyelids, cheeks, under chin (double chin), neck, décolletage, as well as the hips, thighs, lower legs, arms and abdomen.

Before you have your treatment, we’ll firstly invite you in for a consultation to discuss the areas you would like to treat, and your suitability for treatment, taking your medical history into account. We’ll then clean and sterilise and mark out the treatment area. We then use a series of Ultraformer device attachments, dependent on the skin depth being treated. Ultrasound will be delivered to the skin, causing the muscles to contract. Collagen production is also initiated, resulting in the lifting and tightening of the skin.

The whole treatment takes between 30 minutes – 1 hour, and is especially great for those with very busy schedules who need a fast treatment. No downtime is required either, and you can resume your normal activities straight away.

Though discomfort levels vary from client to client, the majority of ours can easily tolerate Ultraformer without the need for anaesthesia. As the ultrasound energy is being delivered, you may feel small amounts of energy being deposited at varying depths, but this sensation only lasts for a few moments during the treatment. We advise to take a couple of paracetamol tablets half an hour before your treatment starts and apply a topical numbing cream. This helps to relief the pain and also reduce the intensity of the zapping sensation. 

From experience, we found the pain relief and numbing cream make the treatment quite tolerable.

Results are noticeable immediately, and as the collagen regeneration process continues, your skin will continue to improve for up to 6 months post-treatment. For the best results, we recommend 2 treatments 3 – 6 months apart to speed up the healing process.

There has been some misinformation surrounding HIFU and its related devices. Let’s clarify:

HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound), Ultraformer III, and Ultherapy are all non-invasive cosmetic procedures used for skin tightening and lifting, but they differ in their technology and application.

1. HIFU uses focused ultrasound energy to heat tissue beneath the skin, causing cellular damage and triggering the body’s natural healing response. This leads to collagen production, which results in tighter, firmer skin. HIFU is often used for facial lifting, tightening sagging skin, and reducing wrinkles.

2. Ultraformer III is a type of HIFU device that delivers ultrasound energy to targeted areas of the skin at different depths, allowing for customisable treatments. Including the foundational layer that surgeons typically address in a facelift, without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. It stimulates collagen production and results in gradual lifting and tightening of the skin over time. Ultraformer is FDA and TGA approved for lifting the skin on the face, chin, neck and brow. Also, for improving lines and wrinkles on the décolletage area. It can penetrate deeper layers of tissue compared to some other HIFU devices, making it suitable for treating not only facial skin but also body.

3. Ultherapy is another brand that uses  HIFU technology.
